How to Reduce Waste

There are a wide range of conservation efforts that can help reduce buildup to protect water resources and aquatic life.

•Plastic grocery bags are used in several countries. This is an unnecessary and costly practice. Instead, use tote bags. They have a multitude of functions and are environmentally friendly.
•Purchase beverages in glass bottles over plastic. Glass is a reusable resource, reducing waste. Drink water from tap and not plastic bottle. Water in plastic bottles is bad for your health! How Bottled Water Harms
•Use recycle bins. There are many areas that do not provide this service. This is a wonderful business industry for productive growth in small communities! For those interested Start a Recycle Center
•Start a community garden and compost site.
•Donate to charity stores rather than throw out items.
•Use technology recycling centers to reduce ewaste. For those interested in this growth industry read through UNESCO’s Handbook Create a Successful Technology Recycling Center.

Personal Note From Editor
In researching responsible Green business models that are economically sensible while remaining environmentally friendly and support wildlife habitat preservation, I thought, “I’m never going to find such a beast.” To my utter surprise and elation, I discovered Dean’s Beans. Bar none, I have never been so impressed with the business model of a company. Another happy shocker was its affordability!

When I found out about Dean’s Beans, I started researching other organic coffee manufacturers and was depressed by the prices discovered. They made expensive coffeehouses look cheap.

At the conclusion of my organic coffee research, I ordered the sample kit from Dean’s Beans to find out if there were differences in the quality of taste and smell. I was unprepared for the vast differences between Dean’s Beans and store bought coffee. The aromatic brew permeated the house, providing an external energy boost of its own and the various flavors started my day with feelings of being on vacation. My energy level went up, but I did not feel hyperactive and my skin felt moist and hydrated. It is odd enough that coffee would make skin feel hydrated, but it is more amazing that it had that effect in a desert climate.

After research and product testing, Dean’s Beans is the only coffee I purchase for home and office use. I encourage all to try this amazing product and see the differences for yourself. Be sure to let me know your thoughts.

Visit: Dean’s Beans.

Main Article: Farmers Sued by TransCanada

It’s Time to Stand:

On February 27, 2012 Obama caved to corporate and political pressure and invited TransCanada to reapply for “permits” to construct this abomination.

The lack of moral center and utter disregard for the welfare of animals, people, and the planet displayed in this overtly corrupt line of thinking has me contemplating the meaning of Daniel Webster’s words. Of this, the United States of America, he stated, “There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter: from the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence. I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men and become the instruments of their own undoing.”

The vacuous weight given to Benjamin Franklin’s words by “professional politicians” who do not see the world beyond their own pocketbook. “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

The echo of Samuel Adams address to the Philadelphia State House whips through the night air. “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

The Founding Fathers of the United States haunt every inch of the nation bellowing their profound shame at how quickly corruption has killed one of the most daring achievements of man – the quest for freedom from tyranny and oppression. A land based on the voices of the people not on governmental edicts.

Successful Animal Advocacy

Animal advocacy can be tiresome from its complexity. It can also be the most rewarding thing a person does professionally or personally.

Main Article: How to Advocate for Animals

Here’s Why People Get Involved:

Photobucket
Advocates from all areas of interest pooled their collective audiences and inspired people to get involved in shutting down the Keystone Pipeline expansion that was slated to run directly through America’s Heartland. On January 18, 2012 President Obama told Canada that America wasn’t for sale.

This result was in no small part due to advocacy. Obama made it clear when he went into office that he expected people to keep the pressure on him about clean energy. Advocates submitted millions of signatures on well-written petitions from people who were against the expansion, in addition to thousands of phone calls.

In no way is it an overstatement to say that one of the greatest ecological disasters was avoided.

Animal Life was tireless in keeping readers motivated. Sometimes hard news can just be too much to take, but the readership kept it going strong by forwarding information, posting Animal Life articles to their Facebook accounts, and signing the many petitions listed in this blog space to stop the expansion.

To all readers, a well earned Thank You! Your advocacy made it possible. Your determination made it a reality and that was no small feat! Only 6 months ago people were saying Keystone was all but a done deal. What you do matters. How you do it matters.

Send Your Regards: Thank Obama for making the correct decision

How to Get Involved:
There are countless ways to show your support for the animal kingdom. Find a way that works best for you. Here are some ideas.

Creativity Counts!

This video is one of the most compelling works of visual advocacy I’ve seen to date. It is well crafted, factual, and simply stated. If you enjoy creating videos you have a fantastic skill to benefit the animal kingdom.

Writing!
The key to successful writing is to clearly articulate the value of an informed perspective. When this skill is harnessed one can write petitions, governments, articles, and blogs with results. There are countless avenues to express well-written informed perspectives. However, I’ll be the bad guy here and say “No” ranting doesn’t count, as it is ineffective for productive advocacy.
